SCKLM Possible Mishaps?
It's T-2 days to SCKLM. I thought my problem was only on the hamstrings, but come Tuesday after the monday's holiday, the flu bug has to come pay its visit. What made it worse, I got it right after only 2 weeks being recovered from it. I remember the duration too clearly, as I was heavily blowing my nose throughout the race in 2XU. and it has to come and hit me again. As always, Qaid got it first. I thought I can skip it this time. But the virus proof to be very strong.
My normal flu would normally be cured with few drops of Clarinase. But not that time. Nor this time. I think my last flu session span an almost 2 weeks period. Clarinase didn't seem to help, nor did Sinutab which hubs has sworn by. And whenever I had my run that time, I would feel like something really blocking my nose and throat making breathing was even more difficult than it already is with running. And I was about to have it all again this time, on the most important week.
After having came across the lime drink benefit, I quickly get it during the day and went to get some lemon after work. A dear colleague told that she hardly got sick due to her lemon drink routine 1st thing in the morning. Even when the husband got sick. A fellow nursing mummy also said the same. Not her exact words; warm honey lemon is very good in curing flu. And flu sometimes can be cured by only getting enough rest. So these 2, has suddenly become my taper priorities now. Honey lemon drink morning and night, and sleep at 10. Day in day out, until the kids were totally bored with it. Ooohh...and the hubs not around too this week. He left Monday night. This time to Germany for 2 weeks. 2 weeks no biggie. Despite him being away, funny how I can be even more efficient with the boys. So far I have successfully asked Qaid to solat jemaah, iqra with both the boys, cooked for them on Wednesday. All for Allah's will. And all these while being sick.
Alhamdullillah, come 3rd day, the flu seems to subside. For all of us. Qays was the only strong one, who was not infected. Touchwood. But the haze is not. It got worse on Thursday and there has been no rain. But there wasn't any rumours or concerns raised whether the race should go on. But I'm sure everyone would have it in their thoughts. For me if the race got cancelled again it will be a total bummer. I missed the earlier and I'm gonna miss this 2nd one. Let's hope that it's not gonna be it this time.
And I had a tryout of the foam roller at the gym today. Verdict: not liking it so much and I can consider it off from my recovery list of things. Stretch, yoga, yes. Ice batch or the equivalent ice pack, yes. Recovery drink, yes. Perskindol, yes. But not to that foam roller. Or my muscles are partly recovered, hence I didn't feel any relief with the foam roller as much. Let's reserve that one as benefit of the doubt.

The Gym's foam roller, looks very much like this |
In terms of stretches, I don't think it needs further elaboration. all the normal stuff. One particular thing that I have added though, which is very relevant to my current condition are these poses below. Feel free to explore other leg stretches, but for hamstring, these are Godsend.

My main reason of putting up this entry was originally for this:

Final batch of frozen milk to be thrown away |
All 40 oz for this batch. In total that I have thrown away....lost count...I shall do that 1 fine day. Had refrained myself from putting it up on Instagram. But just have to share it. Alhamdullillah I've been blessed with continuous supply of milk. Hope for more to come,
