SCKLM Prep Up
Was looking forward for some shopping at the SCKLM REPC. But nothing interesting was there. Not like last year at all. I have been holding for some shopping to make way for REPC's shopping.
With that, off I went to Sunway Pyramid. The main stuff are of course my fueling on race day. Other than that, which is not critical but quite important are maybe some running skirt, tshirt, new pouch that can fill my telekung in, but smaller than my current Nike's. Got quite a few over there, but had to drop by to Empire still, as few were still missing. Total damage not too much, less than RM 150. and the Empire stop was so brief that I didn't have to pay for parking. So double joy. Couldn't find any decent running skirt, but settled with H&M casual skirt, which has proven unsettling, as it's just too thick. Minimalist is the key here.
As the day grows near, the pre race jitters starting to get more intense. It has not much to do with the performance, but more on the logistics. Especially now that I'll be totally on my own. I have been on caffeine fasting this week, and it has been quite a success. Didn't get the grogginess like last time, maybe due to the constant honey lemon that I've been taking day in day out. May also be due to enough rest, since we have been sick, so have made it an effort to sleep early. So the jitters revolve around especially, whether I'll be able to wake up on time, whether Qaisar will be up and disrupt all my morning routines, whether I will leave anything behind (wait till you get to my checklist, it's quite endless), getting to know the Subuh prayer time, so I can plan my pace well, so I reach there just in time, whether to drive on my own or wait for my brother in law, as insisted by the hubs (he truly concern on me being on my own and had to insist on the married with baby brother, to send me).
The Checklist and Todos

The Checklist and Todos
- Coffee first thing in the morning
- breakfast (what type, how much, urgh)
- Settling your number 2 (just how can one force it? mine is always spontaneous. another urgh)
- Handsfree
- Phone
- Pouch (so as a solution, I have safely secured items that I'm going to run in, 2 nights pre race)
- Cap (even this is safely fastened to the pouch)
- Telekung (yupp, it was in as well)
- Pump and pump parts (not sure when will i do the pumping though, especially if the bro in law is sending me. And I need to maximise it as much as possible, as the run itself will take a minimum of 5 hours. Will see how engorged will I be then)
- Chiller and bottles (well, if i have just the pump without this, it will be a bummer)
- Sunblock (well, it will be hot and sunny KL, to be touched up after Subuh prayer, and I plan to do it while running. No time is worth wasted).
- Some money
- Watch
- Have everything charged (phone, watch, pump)
- Gu Chomp
- 2nd surge
- Power bar for breakfast
- Packed recovery drink (and I've packed 6 scoops of it. Have prepared for the most intense recovery as it can be)
- Water
- Mask.
- New pair of lense
Now that everything is quite in order, I feel more at ease now. Game on SCKLM
p/s Entry started before the race. Got hold up until after race. So, pardon the present tense, when it was actually much outdated. And I just had to post it up (without bordering to change it to its correct tense), it serves as my own marathon preparation guide. My MWM pre-race guide has served me well this time around. Hoping to at least contribute to my OWN prep next time around.
