The Scoben Takes South Korea - Day 3

Okay, here we go again, another attempt to finish off the unfinished business of holiday recap.

*******

We had a rough plan on what's the itinerary should look like but had never actually specified the time. We were a bit delayed the day before and that had ended us to rush the remaining day. And the same happened on the 3rd day as well. But we didn't learn much from it. Well, what can you expect since based on the info given to you, it just seemed quite manageable. We were strongly advised to rent a car during our trip here than opt for the KTX since it will be much easier travelling with the elderly and kids and will only take about 5 hours. 5 hours seemed fine, until the actual journey happened. And it was never mentioned to us that we had to leave as soon as possible, even as soon as 5 am. We were only casually briefed that the journey would consume a long time, only in the morning itself.

So enough complaining, enough pinpointing, we finally began our journey to Seoul. There were so many guide by them, should reach this area by when, should have stopped here by when. The speed trap etc. Talking about speed trap, it was the most painful thing. the speed limit was only 80-90 kmph. and the speed trap is almost at every 5km interval. What seemed to be very exciting at the very beginning went into a dreadful thing.

Free water dispenser is definitely my favourite thing. Hydration for the day well taken care of.
You don't get to be at the rest area, in a foreign country always. So this, is truly a privelege

My sleeping beauty

We were quite on track the first half of the day. But since the weather seemed to be hotter during our visit and might have a very slim chance of bumping into snow, Tom had convinced us to at least stop by the ski resort. It was good, getting to stop. The kids and the parents were the most excited. It was our fist encounter to snow, even when it was not actually real snow. But everyone was excited still. Hubs were anxious to leave, since he was very worried that we would reach Seoul very late. So, short term excitement it was, and off we left.

All of us, overlooking the snowy area

The journey after that was no longer fun. It seemed forever for us to reach Seoul. Everyone was hungry. We've been eating the rice with rendang tok and sambal goreng ikan bilis that we brought. While in the car. We couldn't even afford to properly stop and eat. We only had some occasional toilet breaks. Our solat was on the pavement. The kids were quite chaotic at the back. Screamed for food, milk or whatever. It was almost dark. And to top it all, there was a massive traffic going into Seoul. And this is the ultimate hiccup on that day. Hunger, restlessness, time wasted, itinerary missed. We reached the rented apartment late. I immediately got in and cook our rice. But before that, I had to samak using the Tahara soap even. My parents seemed cool, but I'm worried about them the most. After dinner, all we wanted to do was just to sleep. And that was how we concluded our 2nd day.
