Qaid is in school
The school preparation's entry came way too late, but with the amount things to get done with, it;s very much anticipated.
Now Qaid is in already in school. I would say that he's pretty easy with things. Once he see familiar faces, he completely in his world. He wouldn't even bother if I just leave him on his own. but being kiasu parents (it's our first schooling experience and the first for him) so he deserves to be given such attention. I hope I will have the means and will to do the same with my other kids. They just mean the world to me.
So we took turns. The first day both of us took leave and spent our time in school. Hubs took the 2nd day and I took the 3rd day. 3rd day is pure monitoring. I just had to ensure that he's disciplined enough with the following:

So we took turns. The first day both of us took leave and spent our time in school. Hubs took the 2nd day and I took the 3rd day. 3rd day is pure monitoring. I just had to ensure that he's disciplined enough with the following:
- Waking up early and preparing for the sekolah agama. This, I won't worry much, since I will be able to assist him with this always. But still, he needs to learn and be more responsible.
- Putting on cream, oil, powder, uniform, comb.
- Pick up stuff - songkok, wallet
- Have breakfast in time and quit messing around like how he normally did in kindy.
- wait for the transporter to arrive, so as not to miss the van. They say they will honk 3 times, after which they will leave (unless there's a signal from the house to wait a bit longer).
- having break at school.
- getting back from sekolah agama.
- Change from the baju melayu (need to reuse cos we only have 2 sets and i don't want to burden bibik so much with so much laundry to handle) and hang it back to preserve it's good condition.
- Shower.
His only problems are here:
- He likes to fiddle around in class
- He likes to dilly dally
- He takes ages to finish his meal (unless his favourite food like mongolian chicken, or daging masak merah)
- he takes some time from after shower until fully dressed up (putting on his eczema moisturiser and hair oil is 1 of the culprit though).
- procrastinate and dilly dally again in doing the homework
- don't seem to be paying attention, when he may actually really does.
- a bit takut2 to voice out his concerns and thoughts to grown ups, but he surely have no problems with kids of his age.
I spied on him on the last monitoring day and he did good. Went to the right gate for teacher ann and such. This is him during the spying.
it took 3 weeks after this entry was drafted, before it got looked into again (which is right now). Things has been crazy, a lot of changes in our household now that Qaid is in school. He took it well i guess. The bad part is he has to reach home very late (7 25 onwards). A lot of times I was home earlier than him. By night time he would be totally drained out. Good thing there is no homework yet.
I have to think about his breakfast before hand, and over the weekend, to ensure that all supplies for the breakfast is bought. Have to wake up earlier now (6 instead of 6.30 than before). and this is him being in an afternoon school. If he is in morning school, he has to be out earlier. And I understand things can get pretty out of hand in day time, so I prepare the lunch the night before. It also to ensure that they will get some variety on what they eat during the day.
with all the pressure with KSSR, we had thought of additional classes to enrol him in. The current target is karate, something which he can continue on until he got bigger and continuous advancement is possible. Pricey of course, compared to taekwondo. Hope this will help him to discipline himself and be a better person as well. He got selected as class monitor, for the sk TTDI, and that's a very good start. Hope better things is yet to come.
