Not alone

I have to painfully admit... I am not that much alone in this universe of running blogosphere. Have to admit that I am not much of a blog reader in general... Time just never permits... But with the invention of mobile internet devices, and the ever improved internet speed (God bless competition, us users have nothing but benefits from it), I kind of have some time to spare here and there.

I accidentally stumbled upon few new running blogs lately. And their track records are just impressive. How on earth would you have run marathons overseas, when I have trouble to simply join one up north. Due to the unbecoming of MWM, I am now short of 1 marathon KPI for sure. I was hoping to get just 2 marathons for the year... I'm such a simple girl like that, I won't aim as high as the sky. But 1 marathon this year will not be enough. I dont have that much time to spare, to recoup the marathons in the coming years. PBIM is the most likely candidate, but it got scrapped of from the start by the hubs. Run is never easy for me. I have to be grateful to just be running on trainings. So, back to the new blogs. Not only that they've been to races which I can only dream of, they also got decent timing at it.

And there are tons more up there. And I dare thought, for once, that we have less running bloggers from malaysia. To be fair, being a newbie me, I only stumbled upon running blogs while researching for my pregnancy running.. And stumbled into some while googling spibelt... And stumbled into others while googling solat kat mana for my SCKLM 2013... And stumbled some more for MWM's route and elevation (well, the route was different in the end anyhow)... Stumbled some more while researching hydration belt....and the latest being while looking for the online outlet for my new Bandi belt. The list is plenty. And the trend is definitely the same, they are all accidental.

1 thing for sure, they all helped me 1 way or the other. They are not just mere ramblings, but pack with information and has helped me in whatever that I was researching for.

I too envy the support system that they have.
Sometime it looks so enjoyable to be commitment free.
It would have been much nicer if every training route is a different route.
And you get to be doing it with your running buddies. Even Msfitrunner runs with the running buddy now.
Nevertheless, my 3 little muchkins are what makes me who I am and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
It certainly is great to be joining races, but it certainly is great to be running at all, and for that I should be contempt.
Oh, and I envy those people who got to climb Kinabalu as well. So much on my to do list.

Talking about the researches done, it triggers me that I may have something to share about the following:
Getting back to running post maternity
Nursing and running
Long winded or not, they are for my personal consumption anyhoo, feel free to skip whenever.

As for training, should I call it off season.? I'm trying to keep injury at bay and at the same time try to maintain a decent fitness level. But it turned out to be a failure. I had my one of the most dreaded runs this morning, since I couldn't recall when. And I can't really figure out the reason for the sluggishness. Could it be Penang? Wrongly done hills 2 days before? No short shakeout run before the next day's long like I always do? Hadn't I recover from the previous night's bloatedness? Whatever it is, hope it won't happen again and I can be back to my previous form in the coming weeks.

  1. Thank you for a motivational post. Like you, I don't feel so alone after reading this post of yours. I came here by chance while searching for running bloggers just to keep myself motivated. Being surrounded by a circle of friends who do not run can be very challenging to keep going sometimes (cue for me to really go out and expand my circle of friends). I hope there are more runners like you who blog and can keep inspiring other newbie runners like me. I haven't done any marathon yet and not aiming for one at any time soon, but who knows one day. :)
