The Scoben Takes South Korea - Day 1

Such a long overdue continuation, but here goes.

Lucky for us, we have my bro in law to send us to the airport and my sister to send the parents. Else, we would not be able to fit in 1 car. And to make things better, the in laws are going to Korea right after we were done with ours. So we left our car for them to use and leave overnight at the airport until we reach. We had spare keys, so 1 for them, 1 for us.

The rest of my siblings and family turned up to send us over. They took the advantage of seeing my parents of course, so it made our departure was very, I would say, merry. The departure time was 15/1 am.  Which was a Bad Thing for our Sanity. 6 hours flight, not enough sleep, ha

d to look after the baby for me especially. Qaid and Qays was of course very excited. They were not sleepy until they got onto the plane. And it was at freaking 1 am man. Qaisar was surprisingly ok as well. He only got tired before we boarded the plane, at about 12 plus.

The crew were Nice. Very Presentable, Warm and friendly. Have to specifically mention this as this is the total Opposite with the crew heading Home. We were not that appreciative of the crew quality earlier on, but after Coming Back with the not so decent. crew, how we wish all crew are like the one when we had begin our journey with. The 6 hours journey passed by not so bad. It did not feel as long as it sounds. Naela was on me all the time. By 6 am local time, the lavatory started to have long queue and I had trouble to get my wudhu for subuh prayer. Once I got my chance, I took the chance to freshen up as well and powder my nose. Then, performed my solat at the seat. It was a bit selfish of me as I was the only one who managed to do our Subuh. The queue was so long after that, that the rest of my travel crew did not get the chance to even use the toilet afterwards. Oh, I had to babysit my parents even for the prayer arrangement as well. I had to tell them that this is How we gonna do our solat. But it was both, they were not used to it, and there's no Chance to use the Toilet for Wudhu, that the Rest ended up did not do Theirs. Well,. that's their business, at least I had done my part.

We landed just in time before our Bus to My bro was in Law's Place Scheduled. Our Plane was to Busan. The bro is in Geoje Island in Law Place, just Outside of Busan, About 1 hour Bus ride. We reached just in time, and while the hubs were dealing about the bus tickets, I checked out the weather outside to see how cold it was. It was chilly but considering we would board the bus soon, no winter attire was required.

We were lucky enough to catch the bus, else we would either have to wait another 1 hour, or had to make our way for the train ride. It was a DIY kind of bus. We had to put our multiple luggage ourselves. And so did I, even with the baby in tow. The kids were asking about snow the moment we touched down. So excited they were.

We finally reached the place. It was raining, as already mentioned by the bro in law the day before. Some I had brought rain Poncho and an Umbrella. But Umbrella was Deep Inside the Luggage. What I was only managed to Grab on the Poncho. Even with the baby, I prioritised on others which may be in need more than me. But no one wanted it, so I ended up using it. The chill finally hit us that time. I asked everyone to start wearing their winter garments. By now, I was not sure whether they had their down jacket on or not. We were supposed to walk around 1.2 km to the house from the bus stop. It should be fine had it not due to rain and our multiple luggage. Not to forget a stroller. But since there was no taxi in sight and the locals did not recommend us to wait as well, we started our Korean journey, on Korean soil by braving the drizzle. It was light drizzle, but the cold and the stuff and kids in tow just make it so troublesome. What's worse was that the hubs missed the junction and caused us to walk further than we should have. Lack of sleep, cold and slight hunger was a wrong situation to be in that time. My hands and face was already freezing. Rain plus cold weather was really no kidding. As usual, I started to get agitated and sparked some drama. It was such a wrong time maybe that the hubs also retaliated. And then came another bigger drama. While we were trying to cross the Road, was trying to Squeeze Some Giant Trailer Itself Into a very Tight Junction. I thought He was going to at Least Stop. But He did not and still tried to Push Through Itself. Qaisar was with my mom, on the stroller right beside the inconsiderate giant trailer, crying for God knows what reason at that time. I shouted since the trailer was almost rubbing against us, but it did not. I can not put into words how scary it seemed at that time. Mom quickly comforted me and said "I'm here, I'm here". It was such a drama, I assure you. But having the parents around, I tried not to prolong the matter and just shrug everything off. These are the directions given to get to the house.

We were finally Safe at Home. Such a good Warm Place to be in. We had our Lunch not long after that and the Rest just decided to catch on their Sleep. I would prefer if we could Walk Around Right after but the Rest did not. Same seem to share the thinking. So we Caught on with Sleep until Dark, when the bro in Law (or should I Call Him as Tom now) got Back from Work. My parents still preferred to stay in, so we decided to just take away and eat at home. So our first night was about a stroll around Okpo, the city in Geoje where Tom reside and work. Tom introduced us to few eateries. We took away spicy squid for dinner. .Then Continued our stroll which I enjoyed and would have done longer had the hubs were not hungry and had it not been so cold. I was wearing only trench then, as it seemed to be at double digit temperature. Looking Back at it but now, it was one of the coldest Moment in Korea. Even Qays I could not stand on the Face. He had covered his Face with the Snow Cap even then. Qaid seemed fine though. And the day finished with dinner at home.
